Last Class - Last Period

This moment seemed very far, but as everything in life, good things don't last for a long time. I write this time about my last class in my teaching practice in the university. I was pretty excited about this because I was used to prepare classes and all that stuff in order to teach, I even learned to enjoy the classes I taught and each group of students.
This time the topic was "Passive Voice", and as students have studied that in the previous classes, my work was giving them enough practice to make sure they understand the topic very well. Everything started with a warm up in which they learned some verbs in present perfect that will be useful for them in order to make sentences with the right spelling of the verbs; we played "hangman". The group was divided in two, and they were supposed to say a letter to guess the word in the board, if they say a wrong letter they were closer to lose the game. After that, the group was given a page with ten sentences in active voice so that they rewrite them in passive voice. Then, they were given another page with other sentences in passive and active so that they identify if they were in active or passive.
At the end, I asked the students to make groups of three to create a story using passive voice. The group liked the activity, but because of time just one group was able to read the story to the group.
Finally, I must say that this experience has been great for me, and I'm sure that this will help me a lot for my future.

Second Class - Last Period

Well, I'm really happy to tell you about my second with the last group I'm going to have. This time the guide teacher told me that they were still having some problems with the use of gerunds and infinitives, so I tried to look for different activities in order to teach them in a clearer way abou that.
First of all, we started with a warm up in which students had to create a story, they had to use their imagination to say one piece of story; all of them ahd to pay attention because they had to continue according to waht the previos classmates was going to say, the activity was nice because all of the participated and they had fun. Then, students had to complete a filling exercise in which they had to choose between a gerung or an infinitive to complete the sentence, then I checked answers in an oral way. After that, students had to work in pairs in order to interview a classmates with some questions they were given, but the main pupose was that they practiced the gerund and infinitive form.
After all that, students had to stand up and find some who... They were given a page with a list of things for them to find a classmates for each statement, but they had to give some information about that like the reason why the classmates did or liked that, etc. They had a great time with this activity and they kind of knew more things of each other. We finished with this activity. I'm looking forward to teach my last class!

First Class - Last Period

First of all, I must say that it is very exciting when you have a new group because you have to adapt to the group to see what their needs are. But I must also say that this time it is different because it is the last group of my teaching practice; it has been great to teach through all the previous levels, and it will also be a pleasure to teach this last group.
With all the previous been said, I have to continue saying that I taugh my first class with the group in a very nice way; they were practicing a lot about the usage of Gerunds and Infinitives, so I just brought practice for them to understand better. The class started with a game they all liked, that game was bingo. I gave students a page with two different boards that had different infinites and gerunds in order to play bingo. Then, I continued checking some exercises the group had previously done. After that, they were asked to read in groups of tree a paragraph they had in their books, and then discuss what the reading was a bout. After that, each student read one part of the reading out loud for all the class so that they practice reading, and then they complited some exercises according to the reading.

This was basically the first class, and I'm looking forward to teach the second one.

Third class

Hello everyone! What a joy of being here sharing with you my third and last class of this period. I must say it has been challenging, but satisfactory due to the good results I got, and the learning and experience I continue getting. Well, first of all I tell you that the class started with few students, the majority didn't go to class on that day, so it was a little bit easier. I started the class with a warm up reviewing the previous topic, I played a song including new vocabulary for them to learn and the use of the previous topic. Students had to underline in the lyrics of the song I provided every time the target structure appeared, and write the new words for them. After that, I followed the class explaining some information about the use of "will" in the interrogative form, so that they can make questions using "will". Then, students had to complete the first written exercise I provided in which they had to create questions using will. After that, we moved to the second written exercise in which they had to transform or change the sentences from positive or negative to interrogative form. In the end, the class finished with the students standing up and asking their classmates two questions using will, they had to answer one in positive and the other one in negative form. The, I thanked students for their attention and all ended very well. This was a very nice experience in order to improve my teaching skills.

Second Class

Hello everyone! It's very to come back and share my second class this period. I start telling you that I started the class with a warm up called "Two truths one lie", students had to relate the things with different experiences in hotels or trips they have previously done. Then, all students made a circle in order to create a story in a hotel environment, each student had to contribute and add a part to the story. The grammar point of this class was the use of "had better". I explained this grammar point using examples of the books and my own. After that, I told the students to go to page twenty eight of their books in order to develop a controlled practice about completing some sentences with "had better". After finishing that exercise, I told students to create three different sentences using the grammar point of the class. The class was supposed to finish with a role play in which students had to pretend that they were in a hotel with their friends saying things they had better do to enjoy their time there, but time was not enough so the class finished with the three sentences they created. One important thing of this second class was that feedback was better due to I got more prepared for the class, and that influenced my grade.

First Class

It is a great pleasure for me to be sharing with all of you my new experiences in this teaching area. This time I was assigned to teach to Intermediate level. Ad it is common, I was a little bit nervous about the kind of students I was going to have and their behavior in the classroom, but some of them were in Basic in the previous semester, so I knew some of them. I started the class asking about their favorite kind of movies asking if they would rather watch horror movies or romantic movies. Then I played a song related with the previous topic that was "would rather be", students listened the song three times, the first one just to get familiar with the vocabulary, the second one to write some lyrics of the song that were missing and the last one just to check, I arote some new words on the board after the song so that they get new vocabulary. After that, I presented the topic describing two different movies using in the whole description the words "for" and "since" meaning time. What followed next was the grammar explanation about the previous words, their use, and some important things about them, I gave some examples with words and then after 10 minutes, I passes a little written exercise of then sentences in which they had to write "for" or "since". I'm glad to say that most of the students answered correctly. After all that and almost at the end, I told the students to get in pairs and talk about some movies, cartoons or series they watch since they were children, and some others thay they can watch for long periods of time without getting bored. After the class finished and when feedback was given to me, I realized that I made some mistakes that I had made in the previous classes, but the one it was more remarkable was that I took too much time for one activity and that made me not completed the whole plan I prepared; this made me feel a little bad because it is supposed that I don't have to make the same mistakes. I will try to make my best in the following classes to improve, but at the end the class was good and students understood the topic and learned how to use "for" and "since" meaning time.
